Help Older Adults Stay Engaged and Connected Regardless of Their Ability to Pay

In 2021, the NNV board made a significant commitment to address equity at our Village. The board voted to waive the membership fee for older neighbors with low income. This was a critical step to break down barriers to accessing the services and programs that enable our members to remain connected and engaged to our community.

I’m delighted to share that since the policy has changed, our membership has grown! 40% of our members now have their membership fees fully waived, and benefit from the social connections, practical help, and professional support of our Village. Over the course of two years, NNV has provided over $50,000 in member scholarships. This is all possible thanks to your generosity.

Next week, Northwest Neighbors Village will participate in the Home Instead Foundation's final Give65 Campaign and we would like to finish strong! Over a 65-hour period from July 11-14, NNV will raise funds for our Membership Scholarship Fund. Your gift of any amount will make a difference!

We’re hoping to raise $10,000 and take home up to $5,000 in matching grants provided by Home Instead Charities. Matching grants always go fast, so we’d love for you to make your gift right at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11th in order to increase the odds of doubling your gift. Please be on the lookout next week for information on how you can support your neighbors through this important campaign.

If you have any questions or need assistance making your donation, please feel free to reach out to our office at schong@nnvdc.org or call 202-935-6060.

Thank you in advance for your generous support!
