The Washington Home Foundation Helps NNV Expand Programs and Services

The Washington Home Foundation has made a significant investment in aging services throughout the city. Northwest Neighbors Village (NNV) will receive over $27,000 from The Washington Home Foundation to leverage partnerships with local non-profits in Ward 3 and expand programs and services to reach more older neighbors. Ward 3 partners include Cleveland & Woodley Park Village, Glover Park Village, Palisades Village, Iona Senior Services, Christ House, Story Tapestries, and Wild Tech.

Here’s what this means to you:

Expanded Social and Wellness Programming:

  • Monthly Empowering Solo Agers group
  • NNV Walks that are now open to the broader community
  • Monthly Coffee Gatherings that are open to the community
  • Local trips to museums and other areas of interest
  • Know Your Options Programming to provide information about services and providers to help you navigate the changing landscape of aging
  • Fall Foliage Photography Class offered by our partner Story Tapestries
  • Technology Program provided by our partner WildTech
  • Large events like NNV’s Ice Cream Social, Picnic, Holiday Party and Valentine’s Day Brunch

Expanded Health Access:

  • NNV is hosting a Community Vaccine Clinic at Chevy Chase Day
  • Health Education and Screening Sessions on Memory Loss, Anxiety and Depression, Oral Health, Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar, and Fall Risk
