We hope you will join us for some – or all – of our upcoming activities.

An Evening with Ruth Marcus on Wednesday, April 29 at 7:00 pm – Join NNV for dessert and conversation with Ruth Marcus, contributing writer at The New Yorker, and support the valuable work of Northwest Neighbors Village at the same time! This is a small get-together for dessert and discussion. Ruth Marcus is a contributing writer at The New Yorker based in DC, who focusses on law, the courts, and the rule of law under President Trump. Marcus joined The New Yorker after a career at the Washington Post, where she covered the White House, the Supreme Court, and the Justice Department; served as deputy national editor; and was a deputy editor overseeing the op-ed section. Tickets for this fundraiser are $100. Celebrate Older Americans’ Month at Nats Park on Thursday, May 21st at 4:05 pm – Mets vs. Nats – Help make it a tradition to celebrate older adults at Nationals Park at this special “proof of concept” game. With strong ticket sales this year, Nationals Park will make this an official themed ticket day next season, like their university and military appreciation days, etc. This is your opportunity to be part of a special day at the ballpark as we raise the visibility of older adults across the DC metro area. Together, we’ll celebrate aging, gather resources, and enjoy a Nationals game! We hope to see you there! Members can purchase tickets, which includes transportation, here. Not a member? We’d love to see you at the game! Click here to purchase tickets that will count toward our minimum sales.

Warm regards,
Stephanie

P.S. Last month, Stephanie Miller, founder of Zero Waste in DC talked with NNV about sustainability. In honor of Earth Month, NNV will share weekly tips that we learned from Stephanie’s presentation. Here’s this week’s tip:

Food waste is a huge contributor of greenhouse gas emissions. Reduce food waste by meal planning, eating leftovers, and freezing food and ingredients you can’t consume all at once. Learn more here
